What can you do in Luino

in the old town down to the lake promenade

As usual in any nice lake resort the first thing to do when you visit Luino is to take a walk on the lake promenade. Lake Maggiore offers one of the most beautiful and renowned landscapes in northern Italy. Take your time to enjoy your walk in the shadow of the trees looking at the nearby palaces that show the typical architectural style of the 19th and 20th century and view the old small harbour of the Napoleonic age.

The old town of Luino shows the typical characteristrics of the traditional lake villages as you can see in the neighbouring area: narrow streets slogging up to the edge of the village, various buildings that date back to the Renaissance and Baroque period.
