Absolutely to be visited
On the south-eastern coast of Lake Maggiore you can visit the Borromean Fortress in Angera, an incredible building made up of five different bodies built between the 11th and the 17th century: the Scaliger Body, the Visconteo Body, the Tower of John Visconti, the Borromean Building. The fortress houses the Museum of the Doll and the Toy, which shows the development of toys and playing from the 18th century up to nowadays. The Historical Halls host precious frescos, ancient paintings and original decorations. Outside, the Medieval Garden will take you on a journey back in time.
