BEACHES AND LAKE MAGGIORE
The Lombardy shore of Lake Maggiore offers numerous beaches, green areas and pleasant lakefront promenades where you can spend relaxing days, swim or simply take a walk by the water.

Starting from the northernmost area, in Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca you will find Lido di Maccagno and Parco Giona, one of the best-known swimming areas in the Upper Lake Maggiore region, with spacious areas close to the water and green spaces. In the same area you will also find Lido di Zenna and Ronco delle Monache beach, suitable for those who prefer quieter and more natural surroundings. The lakefront in Maccagno is also pleasant for walking and spending some time outdoors.

A little further south, in Tronzano Lago Maggiore, you will find Lido Windsurf, an equipped beach that is particularly popular with water sports enthusiasts.

In Luino, you will find Le Serenelle beach, located at the end of the lakefront. The long pedestrian promenade overlooking the lake also allows you to walk close to the town centre, bars and restaurants while enjoying pleasant views of Lake Maggiore.

In Germignaga, there are several areas dedicated to relaxation by the water. Parco Le Fontanelle directly overlooks the lake and has an equipped beach. Nearby you will also find Parco Il Boschetto, with green areas, walking paths and spaces for children, as well as Boschettino beach.
Continuing along the shore, you reach Brezzo di Bedero, where you will find the free Cà Bianca beach, a simple and peaceful option for spending a few hours by the lake.

In Porto Valtravaglia, you will find Lido Valtravaglia, close to the village centre. The lakefront, bars and restaurants make it possible to combine a day at the beach with a pleasant walk.

Caldè, in the municipality of Castelveccana, is also well worth a visit. This characteristic village directly overlooks Lake Maggiore and is surrounded by beaches, green areas and pleasant walking routes. In the Castelveccana area you will also find 5 Arcate beach, a more natural setting particularly suitable for those seeking peace and quiet.

These are just some of the beaches along the Lombardy shore of Lake Maggiore. Some are equipped and particularly suitable for families, while others are simpler and surrounded by nature. During your stay, you can therefore alternate relaxing days by the lake with walks, visits to small villages and trips to discover the different destinations in the area.

Depending on the location of the accommodation, some of these beaches can be reached on foot or within a few minutes by car, while the more distant ones offer a pleasant opportunity to spend a day exploring Lake Maggiore.

PLACES TO VISIT
The area is an excellent starting point for discovering Lake Maggiore and organising excursions to numerous tourist destinations in Italy and Switzerland.

Luino is worth visiting for its pleasant lakefront, town centre and well-known Wednesday weekly market, one of the most important in the area.

Along the Lombardy shore, you can also discover places such as Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca, Germignaga, Porto Valtravaglia and Caldè, ideal for walking along the lake, visiting small villages and spending pleasant days among beaches and nature.

Among the most characteristic excursions on Lake Maggiore are the Borromean Islands.
Isola Bella is known for Palazzo Borromeo and its spectacular gardens. Isola Madre, the largest island in the archipelago, is famous for its botanical garden, while Isola dei Pescatori retains the atmosphere of a small lakeside village, with narrow streets, restaurants and shops.
Stresa is also well worth a visit. It is one of the best-known tourist destinations on Lake Maggiore, with elegant villas, gardens, historic buildings and a pleasant lakefront offering views of the Borromean Islands.

For those wishing to organise a longer day trip, Como and Milan are other interesting destinations for discovering the cities, culture and landscapes of Northern Italy.

The proximity to Switzerland also makes it easy to visit some of the best-known destinations in the Canton of Ticino.
Lugano offers an elegant town centre, pleasant walks along the lake and beautiful views of the mountains.
Locarno is known for Piazza Grande and its lively atmosphere, while Ascona stands out for its characteristic historic centre and pleasant lakefront.
Bellinzona is famous for its medieval castles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is a particularly interesting destination for those who enjoy history and culture.
The Verzasca Valley is also worth visiting. Surrounded by nature, it is known for the emerald-green waters of the river, mountain landscapes and characteristic stone villages. At the entrance to the valley is the famous Verzasca Dam, which became known worldwide thanks to the spectacular opening scene of the film GoldenEye, starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.

There are many possibilities for excursions: beaches, villages, cities, walks and panoramic destinations offer the opportunity to enjoy a different experience every day.
